During a recent remembrance of the attempted mutiny at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka openly accepted responsibility for the events that have shaped Fiji’s military history since 1987. He expressed regret while seeking forgiveness from the families of the Counter Revolutionary Warfare (CRW) soldiers who lost their lives during the tumultuous events of November 2, 2000.
Rabuka connected these past military actions to his own decisions made on May 14, 1987.
