Manshika Prasad, the newly crowned Miss Universe Fiji 2024, recently experienced a tumultuous turn of events after being crowned queen. Just two days following her coronation, confusion erupted around her title, fueled by allegations that included vote rigging and financial misconduct.
While Prasad faced public scrutiny and a lengthy media attack from a rival contestant, she maintained her composure amidst the accusations. The situation intensified as questions arose regarding the rival’s motives, which many interpreted as racially charged.
Despite the mounting tension, Prasad chose not to engage in social media disputes. Instead, she focused on her upcoming participation in the international pageant. In a recent Instagram post, she shared a radiant photo of herself in a stylish white gown, crown, and sash, while expressing her excitement for the 73rd Miss Universe event in Mexico.
“I am going officially as stated by Miss Universe Organisation,” Prasad reaffirmed, aiming to clarify her standing as the rightful titleholder.
This conflict gained traction after rival contestant Nadine Roberts publicly challenged Prasad’s reign, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest in the competition’s organization. Despite repeated inquiries, Roberts has yet to address these issues.
Meanwhile, Prasad, who is an advocate for women’s rights and is pursuing her Masters in Business Administration in Australia, is eagerly preparing for the upcoming international pageant.
