Team Pro Pack clinched victory at the Caritas Fiji Golf tournament, which was generously sponsored by Fiji Airways, held at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club last Saturday. The winning team, comprising Kishor Kumar, Inoke Bolakoro, Damien Sheridan, and Roneel Prakash, achieved an impressive score of 56.125 points.
Damien Sheridan, who played golf for the first time at this event, expressed his excitement saying, “I’m playing golf for the first time and great to be part of the winning team.”
In second place was Team Rariben, which included Shelly Rariden from Michigan, USA, along with Father Sigarara and David Qiolevu, scoring 56.3 points. Rariden commented on her experience, reflecting on her long-standing friendship with Father Sigarara and the warm welcome they received in Fiji, stating, “The staff here was very welcoming, and the course was very pleasant and beautiful. Fiji met all my expectations as far as a warm cultural community; we just had a great time.”
Team Mali secured the third position, featuring Nitulesh Mali, Avinesh Dutt, Shivneel Gounder, and Abid Hussain, with a score of 56.62 points.
Arthur Groom, the director of Caritas Fiji, expressed gratitude towards Fiji Airways for its support of the event, stating that all proceeds would aid their charitable work. “All proceeds will support our charitable initiatives, helping those in need in our communities. A big thank you to our generous sponsors for making this event possible. Let’s make a difference together,” he emphasized.
Caritas Fiji serves as the social arm of the Catholic Church in the country, focusing on charity and aiding those in need, striving to be a voice for the marginalized in society.
