Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced that the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Commission of Inquiry regarding allegations raised by former FICAC Acting Deputy Commissioner, Francis Puleiwai, are currently in draft form and will soon be finalized and made public.
This announcement follows Puleiwai’s claims that senior government officials, including ministers and deputy prime ministers, influenced investigations targeted at them.
Rabuka indicated that the inquiry might take the shape of either a commission or an investigative body. He assured that the formulation of the Terms of Reference is underway, and the composition of the commission responsible for the investigation is also being established.
He emphasized that there is legislative backing for the Commission of Inquiry, which will be set up accordingly.
