“Prime Minister praises Sabha’s holistic approach to societal issues”

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has recognized the significant contribution of the Shree Sanatan Dharam Patinidhi Sabha of Fiji to the country’s development.

During a visit to the Sabha’s headquarters in Samabula yesterday, the Prime Minister was briefed on the organization’s operations and future plans.

Rabuka commended the Sabha for transcending religious boundaries in its work.

Shayal Shikha, the Sabha’s executive director, informed the Prime Minister that the organization is now integrating modern ethics and practices alongside its emphasis on religion and culture to tackle the nation’s social issues.

Shikha stressed the importance of collective efforts to address social challenges such as drug abuse, unemployment, poverty, and other pervasive issues in society.

With 28 local branches, numerous temples and mandalis, several primary and secondary schools, and technical colleges, the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha has also initiated prison visits, medical screenings, blood drives, food distributions, and mobile counseling programs.

Additionally, the organization recently helped the Ministry of Health with the cremation of unclaimed bodies at CWM Hospital.

Rabuka affirmed that the Government is prepared to collaborate with the organization in its efforts to advance the nation.
