The chairperson of the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC), Ratu Viliame Seruvakula, has raised a significant concern regarding the decline of Fiji’s indigenous languages and culture. During a recent two-day meeting, the council members expressed their worries that a decline in language proficiency could ultimately threaten Fiji’s cultural identity, potentially leading to severe implications in the future.
