Parliament was adjourned today due to an unexpected power outage affecting the capital. Speaker Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu announced the adjournment at 3:05 PM, stating that the power disruption impacted the automatic recording capabilities provided by the Information Technology and Computing infrastructure.
“The system is unable to broadcast, and the For the Record (FTR) system cannot record either. This is essential for the Hansard team to document everything said and done for future records,” Lalabalavu explained.
The House is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow at 9:30 AM.
