The condition of the roads at the Suva Bus Stand has raised concerns among both pedestrians and bus operators, particularly due to the growing number of potholes that make navigation challenging, especially during peak travel times.
The Suva City Council (SCC) has responded to these concerns, emphasizing that road repairs are a top priority. Acting chief executive officer Tevita Boseiwaqa stated that the council has been actively communicating with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) to address the issue promptly.
“We are treating this as a priority,” Mr. Boseiwaqa affirmed. He noted that the recent wet weather has exacerbated the deterioration of the roads, but assured the public that necessary repair work will commence as soon as weather conditions improve.
This proactive approach by the SCC showcases their commitment to maintaining infrastructure and ensuring the safety and ease of transit for the community. Timely repairs can significantly enhance the travel experience for both residents and visitors in Suva.
In summary, while the current road conditions present challenges, the SCC’s dedication to addressing the issue gives hope for a timely resolution, ultimately enhancing transportation reliability in the region.
