Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has confirmed that his office received a complaint against Permanent Secretary Pita Wise, which he has forwarded to Parmesh Chand, the Permanent Secretary for Civil Service.
In a media briefing, Rabuka mentioned that Wise resigned shortly after a meeting with Luke Rokovada, the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission. However, the Prime Minister did not disclose the specifics of the complaint.
Rabuka has recommended several candidates to the Public Service Commission for the temporary position, and he has invited former Permanent Secretaries from the Prime Minister’s Office to express their interest in the acting role.
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police for Crime, Mesake Waqa, stated that there is currently no report related to this matter with the police. Earlier, the Public Service Commission announced that Wise’s resignation was voluntary and due to personal reasons.
