Political Shake-Up: New Leadership in The People’s Alliance

The People’s Alliance (PA) party has appointed Ro Filipe Tuisawau as one of its new deputy leaders, filling the role previously held by Lynda Tabuya, who was removed in March. Tabuya’s dismissal was linked to allegations of her involvement in an extramarital affair and a drug scandal during a government trip to the Parliament of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, last year. The party’s acting secretary, Sila Balawa, confirmed that the executive committee approved Ro Filipe’s appointment during a meeting on September 25.

Ro Filipe currently serves as the Minister for Public Works, Transport, and Meteorological Services and is also the Leader of Government Business in Parliament. He previously held the position of Opposition Whip from 2018 to 2022 under the previous administration.
