The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO), Livai Driu, has issued a stern warning against individuals who are making threats on social media. He urged them to maintain their composure and allow the police to fulfill their duties effectively.

“Emotions are running high at this time, and we ask all parties to stay calm. Taking justice into your own hands will only worsen the situation,” ACP Driu remarked. He confirmed that police have started apprehending suspects, with one bouncer already in custody. “Last night, we detained one individual who is now in our custody,” he added.

A dedicated team from the Totogo Police Station is actively collecting statements from witnesses and those involved in incidents occurring in Namatakula Village. ACP Driu encouraged everyone involved to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation by providing statements and any relevant evidence.

He highlighted the need for patience among the public, encouraging them to trust the police’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation. “We are actively monitoring social media and will remain vigilant to prevent any unlawful actions,” he stated.

As the New Year approaches, ACP Driu reassured the community that the police remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.

In conclusion, this plea from ACP Driu emphasizes the importance of community cooperation and keen awareness during challenging times, fostering a united front against any threats to public safety as we enter the new year. It presents a hopeful vision where law enforcement and the public can work together harmoniously for a secure and peaceful community.
