The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, has delivered a firm warning to those making threats on social media, urging calmness and encouraging individuals to allow law enforcement to fulfill their responsibilities.
“Emotions are running high at this moment, and we ask all parties to remain composed. Taking matters into your own hands will only heighten tensions and complicate the situation,” stated ACP Driu.
He reported that police have started to apprehend suspects, with one bouncer connected to the incident already in custody. “Last night, we detained one individual, and he is currently being held for questioning,” ACP Driu confirmed.
A team from the Totogo Police Station is actively collecting statements from witnesses and those involved in the incident at Namatakula Village. “We encourage everyone to cooperate fully with the investigation by providing their accounts and any relevant evidence,” he urged.
Furthermore, ACP Driu highlighted the necessity of patience, asking citizens to allow the police to carry out a comprehensive investigation. “We are vigilant and monitoring social media activity to prevent any illegal actions,” he assured.
As the New Year approaches, ACP Driu reassured the public that the police are committed to ensuring safety and security for everyone.
In summary, the police are actively investigating a recent incident, urging the community to remain calm and cooperative. It is a crucial time for community involvement and understanding, which can ultimately lead to a safer environment for all as we transition into the New Year.
