Officers, guided by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa, the Divisional Police Commander for the Western region, have been urged to minimize complaints by strictly following protocols and guidelines.
During a divisional parade marking the conclusion of the fourth quarter, SSP Vaisewa expressed his concerns to officers operating from Rakiraki to Sigatoka. He emphasized the importance of treating each complaint with equal seriousness and providing suitable advice where necessary.
“No complaint should be taken lightly, and the complainant should receive appropriate guidance to ensure their satisfaction,” SSP Vaisewa stated.
He also reiterated the Acting Commissioner of Police’s zero-tolerance policy towards officers involved in criminal activities, warning that any police personnel found exploiting their role for personal gain through illegal means would face severe repercussions.
According to SSP Vaisewa, the community expects police officers to rise to the occasion or step aside if they cannot meet policing expectations, highlighting the need for improved responsiveness.
