The Fiji Police Force rugby team received significant support from Shop N Save supermarket as they gear up for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Challenge. This marks the third consecutive year that the locally-owned supermarket has sponsored the Police Blues as they prepare to defend the honor of the bowl against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on November 8 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
George Brown, a security consultant for Shop N Save Supermarket, presented the sponsorship and praised the police officers for their contributions to the community and nation-building efforts.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime Mesake Waqa, who is also the president of the police rugby team, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship, stating that it will support the team’s logistics. He emphasized that they are not underestimating their opponents.
“This is one of the events that both forces look forward to, and they will put their best efforts on display,” Waqa said. He acknowledged the military’s desire to win the bowl, particularly after their recent loss of the Escott Shield, and he expects them to come well-prepared for the upcoming match.
The specific amount of the sponsorship has not been disclosed.
