Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Joape Cakacaka, the newly appointed Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern Division, conducted his inaugural operational readiness check parade today in Nausori. This event comes as the region prepares for the upcoming festive and hurricane seasons.
During the parade, attended by officers from the Eastern Division, SSP Cakacaka emphasized the dual nature of the festive season. He acknowledged it as a time of joy and celebration for many, while also highlighting the heightened responsibilities it brings for law enforcement. He urged his team to remain dedicated and uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, respect, humility, and professionalism.
SSP Cakacaka reminded officers that their actions reflect not only on themselves but also on the Fiji Police Force as a whole. He stated, “The eyes of the community are upon us,” underlining the importance of public trust in their role as protectors of peace.
The Eastern Division encompasses several areas, including Nakasi, Nausori, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Rewa, and the Lomaiviti group. The readiness checks covered both land and maritime resources to ensure comprehensive preparedness for any challenges ahead.
In closing, SSP Cakacaka reinforced the critical nature of their work, saying, “The safety of our citizens depends on our readiness and responsiveness.” His message encourages a focus on high-quality service delivery and commitment to duty as the community anticipates the festive season.
This proactive approach by the police signifies a strong commitment to community safety, fostering a sense of security and readiness among the public as we transition into this year’s celebration period and face potential natural disasters.
With the police force taking such measures, citizens can feel reassured about their safety and the continued dedication of law enforcement during a time that often brings both joy and challenges.
