The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern Division, conducted an operational readiness check parade this morning. This event marks his first official duty since taking up the position and was held in Nausori, gathering officers from various areas within the Eastern Division.

In his speech, SSP Cakacaka emphasized that the upcoming festive season is a time for joy but also comes with its own set of challenges. He urged the officers to remain committed to their duties and to uphold the high standards of discipline inherent to their roles. He remarked on the importance of demonstrating integrity, respect, humility, and professionalism, noting that the community closely observes their conduct. The actions of the police not only reflect their individual character but also influence the reputation of the Fiji Police Force as a whole.

The Eastern Division encompasses several key regions, including Nakasi, Nausori, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Rewa, and the Lomaiviti group. As part of the preparations, checks were performed on both land and maritime resources, underscoring the importance of being well-equipped to ensure public safety.

SSP Cakacaka concluded his address by reminding the officers that the safety of the citizens hinges on their readiness and quick response during this festive and hurricane season. He encouraged continued focus and dedication to their duties to deliver high-quality service.

This proactive approach by the police leadership bodes well for community safety, particularly in times when the risk of natural disasters and increased festivities can pose significant challenges. It reflects a commitment not just to enforcement but to community engagement and the well-being of citizens.
