The safety of the community during the upcoming festive and cyclone seasons is a top priority, and readiness is key. This was emphasized by Divisional Police Commander East, Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, during his operational readiness parade held on Thursday morning. This event marked SSP Cakacaka’s first parade since assuming his new role in Nausori, where he addressed the officers from the Eastern Division.
In his speech, SSP Cakacaka highlighted the importance of maintaining professionalism and discipline, urging officers to embody the core values of integrity, respect, humility, and professionalism. “As guardians of peace and safety, it is essential that we uphold these values in everything we do,” he stated. He acknowledged that while the festive season brings joy to communities, it also poses distinct challenges that require steadfast commitment from law enforcement.
SSP Cakacaka reminded the officers that their actions reflect not only on themselves but also on the entire Fiji Police Force, emphasizing the community’s watchful eye on their conduct. The Eastern Division’s jurisdiction spans areas such as Nakasi, Nausori, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Rewa, and the Lomaiviti group.
He reinforced the need for readiness by conducting checks on both land and maritime resources, stating, “The safety of our citizens depends on our preparedness and responsiveness.” In closing, he urged the officers to maintain focus and dedication to their duties, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
This proactive approach by the Fiji Police underscores their commitment to ensuring community safety during a crucial time, and it is a hopeful reminder of their dedication to serving and protecting citizens effectively.
By fostering a strong sense of community trust and preparedness, this initiative can lead to a safer festive season for all, enhancing public safety and promoting a spirit of togetherness among the citizens.
