Police Operations Uncover Drug Ring in Lautoka and Nadi

Yesterday, law enforcement authorities apprehended three individuals on drug-related charges during distinct operations in Lautoka and Nadi.

A 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place, Nadi, were confronted by the Police K-9 Unit on Waiyavi in Lautoka. Upon inspection, officers found two clear plastic bags containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.

In a separate incident, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was arrested after police discovered marijuana seedlings in his possession. A subsequent search of his residence by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit and the Police K-9 Unit led to the discovery of additional marijuana seedlings.

As the investigation proceeds, the three suspects are currently in police custody.

This situation reflects the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug possession and trafficking in the region, illustrating their commitment to public safety. Continued vigilance and community cooperation play crucial roles in addressing such issues effectively.
