The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Joape Cakacaka, who oversees the Divisional Police Command in the East, conducted an operational readiness check parade this morning in preparation for the upcoming festive and hurricane seasons. This parade, held in Nausori, marks SSP Cakacaka’s first official event since his appointment, and it gathered officers from throughout the Eastern Division.
During his speech, SSP Cakacaka reminded the officers of the significance of the festive season, which brings both joy and potential challenges to communities. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of discipline, noting that the police’s actions influence not only their reputation but also the entire Fiji Police Force. “As guardians of peace and safety, we must embody integrity, respect, humility, and professionalism,” he stated.
The Eastern Division encompasses several areas, including Nakasi, Nausori, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Rewa, and the Lomaiviti group. Police conducted comprehensive checks on resources for both land and maritime operations to ensure preparedness for any emergencies.
SSP Cakacaka concluded with a reminder that the safety of citizens hinges on the officers’ readiness and responsiveness, urging them to maintain their commitment to excellence in service.
This proactive approach by the police leadership highlights the importance of community safety during festive periods and natural disasters. It instills confidence in the community, knowing that law enforcement is prepared to meet challenges head-on. As the festive season approaches, this readiness reinforces a sense of security and hope among the citizens.
