In the recent Volleyball competition, the Police Servers 2 team triumphed over the Army Servers 2, winning 2 out of 3 sets. This victory continues the trend of the Fiji Police Force’s strong performance in the sport.
In a closely contested match, the Police Wives team also emerged victorious against the Army Wives, securing their win in a challenging best-of-five sets. The captain of the Police Wives, Mereia Tuisawau, shared that the preparations leading up to the game were particularly demanding. Many players had to balance training with family responsibilities, as they are mothers who spend significant time away from their loved ones for practices.
Police Wives’ coach, Ratu Seremaia Tuinausori, praised his team’s dedication and perseverance throughout their training, stating, “All thanks goes to God for giving us the energy today, enabling us to carry out today’s game.” He noted that despite the Army Wives taking the lead in the first set, their confidence in their training helped them recover and secure the victory.
Tuisawau also mentioned some hurdles the team faced while preparing for this match, including changes in player lineups due to other commitments, with some team members participating in netball and rugby sevens. However, she expressed gratitude for their camaraderie and positive spirit.
The Fiji Police Force has shown impressive performance in volleyball over the years and aims to defend their title in this year’s competition. The continued success of these teams not only highlights their athletic skills but also their resilience and determination—a positive reflection of community spirit and teamwork.
This underlines the importance of sports in fostering unity, as well as the dedication of those involved, balancing family and athletic commitments. The Police Force’s dominant performance serves as an inspiration for both players and fans alike.
