In an exciting volleyball matchup, Police Servers 2 triumphed over Army Servers 2, winning 2 out of 3 sets. Meanwhile, the Police Wives team faced Army Wives in a hard-fought contest that saw the Police Wives winning 3 out of 5 sets.
Team Captain Mereia Tuisawau expressed that preparing for the match was a significant challenge, especially for members of the team who juggle family responsibilities alongside their athletic commitments. “It was quite a tough journey as most of us would spend our days away from our families, especially those with children,” she shared.
Coach Ratu Seremaia Tuinausori praised his team’s dedication and hard work during training, which proved beneficial in their latest game. “Thanks to God for giving us the energy today to perform. Although the Army Wives dominated the first set, we remained steadfast, trusting in the training we’ve put in over the last few months,” he noted.
Tuisawau also discussed several hurdles the team faced, such as frequent player changes due to commitments in other sports. “Two of our players are involved in netball, while one is participating in rugby sevens. I’m grateful to God for blessing us with a supportive and resilient team spirit,” she added.
The Fiji Police Force has a strong track record in volleyball competitions and is poised to defend their title this year in the Ratu Sukuna Bowl.
This display of sportsmanship highlights the dedication and resilience of the Police teams, who not only excel in their professional duties but also showcase their talents on the sports field. It’s a testament to their commitment both at work and in their personal lives.
In summary, the Police teams have shown exceptional performance, and their journey reflects the sacrifices and determination that many athletes experience, making their potential victory all the more inspiring. Their efforts should serve as motivation for other teams to strive for success amidst challenges.
