Team Captain Mereia Tuisawau shared insights into the challenges faced during their preparations, noting the difficulties of balancing training with family responsibilities, especially for teammates who are parents. “It was quite a tough journey as most of us would spend our days away from our families,” she explained.
Coach Ratu Seremaia Tuinausori praised the girls’ dedication and hard work leading up to the match. He expressed gratitude for the stamina they exhibited during the game, stating, “All thanks goes to God for giving us the energy today.”
Despite the Army Wives dominating the first set, the Police Wives remained optimistic, relying on the skills developed during their rigorous training.
