Police Crackdown on unruly behavior at Deans Finals!

Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, who serves as the Director Traffic, has issued a warning to students and schools regarding unruly behavior during the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Vodafone Deans quarter-finals. The event is set to take place tomorrow.

SSP Divuana stated that traffic officers will be on high alert and will confiscate any flags or materials deemed to be used dangerously from moving vehicles. He emphasized that the visibility of traffic officers will be heightened along the Queens Highway, major arterial roads, and throughout the capital city.

He reminded everyone that flags are prohibited from being displayed outside of bus and car windows, urging parents, teachers, and guardians to closely monitor the behavior of children. Additionally, drivers are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance to prevent any last-minute rush.

The police are asking for cooperation from the public to help avoid major incidents on the roads. The Raluve quarter-finals will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Laucala, Suva, today, while the Super Deans quarter-finals are scheduled for the same venue tomorrow. The Fiji Police Force has previously noted that there have been instances of student misconduct during and after matches, and they intend to take appropriate action against those who violate the laws.
