Police Crackdown: Arrests and Allegations Rock Drug Trade in Fiji

Law enforcement officials are being reminded of their critical role in combating drug trafficking, as the Fiji Police Force asserts its commitment to eliminating any interference from individuals engaged in the drug trade.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu emphasized this following the arrest of a 31-year-old man in Caubati yesterday. The suspect was apprehended after police uncovered clear plastic bags containing white crystals, which are believed to be methamphetamine, as well as dried leaves thought to be marijuana. During the arrest, the man allegedly attempted to bribe a police officer.

ACP Driu assured the public that any reports of police misconduct will be taken seriously, leading to appropriate disciplinary actions and potential criminal proceedings against those involved.
