The Constitutional Offices Commission is set to choose a new Commissioner of Police in its upcoming meeting. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka noted that the commission’s meeting has been delayed due to the absence of Leader of Opposition Inia Seruiratu, who is currently out of the country. Regarding the selection process for the new Police Commissioner, Rabuka stated, “We won’t have an appointment immediately but will compile a list of applicants for selection at the next COC meeting, which is expected to be held next week. However, we will wait for the Leader of Opposition to return before proceeding.”
