Police Chief’s Bold Call: Time to Tackle Complaints Head-On

Officers under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa, the Divisional Police Commander for the Western Division, have been advised to minimize complaints by diligently following established protocols and guidelines.

During the divisional parade marking the end of the fourth quarter, SSP Vaisewa cautioned officers covering the area from Rakiraki to Sigatoka.

He instructed police personnel to treat every report with the same level of importance and provide appropriate guidance when necessary.

“No complaint should be dismissed, and the complainant should receive the proper assistance to ensure their satisfaction,” SSP Vaisewa stated.

He also reiterated the Acting Commissioner of Police’s strict zero-tolerance stance against any officers involved in criminal activities, highlighting that any officer found abusing their authority for personal gain through illegal means will face serious repercussions.

SSP Vaisewa mentioned that the public expects police officers to either rise to meet their responsibilities or step aside if they cannot fulfill the expectations of their role, urging them to be more responsive.
