Police officers in the Western Division have been urged to meet the expectations of their roles or consider resigning. This directive was issued by the Divisional Police Commander Western, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa, during the recent end-of-quarter parade, which included officers from Rakiraki to Sigatoka.

SSP Vaisewa emphasized the importance of treating every report with equal seriousness and providing appropriate guidance when necessary. He highlighted that the community expects police officers to be more responsive, stating that those unable to handle the demands of their job should step aside.

He reminded his officers to minimize complaints by adhering strictly to established processes and procedures. “No report should be taken lightly, and proper advice should be provided to ensure that complainants leave feeling satisfied,” SSP Vaisewa remarked.

Additionally, he reiterated the Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew’s, stance on zero tolerance for officers engaged in criminal behavior, noting that any officer found exploiting their position for personal gain through illegal activities will face appropriate consequences.
