Police officers in the Western Division have been urged to meet the expectations of their roles or consider resigning. This message was conveyed by the head of the Western Division during the divisional parade held at the end of the fourth quarter, which included officers from Rakiraki to Sigatoka.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa emphasized the importance of treating every report with equal seriousness and providing sound advice when necessary. He stated that the public expects a higher level of responsiveness from police officers and called on those unable to manage the demands of policing to resign.

SSP Vaisewa reminded the officers under his leadership to address complaints effectively by adhering strictly to standard processes and procedures. “No report should be treated lightly, and proper advice should be given to the complainant, so they leave satisfied,” he asserted.

Additionally, he reiterated the Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew’s stance on maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards officers engaged in criminal activities. He warned that any officer who misuses their position and uniform for personal gain through illegal actions will face appropriate consequences.
