Police Blues Head Coach Solomone Nute expressed that the successful defense of the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl marks a fitting conclusion to the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Fiji Police Force. Following their narrow 20-19 victory over the Army at the HFC Bank Stadium, Nute described the win as a mission accomplished for him and his dedicated team.
“We cherish this win as a tribute to the 150 years of service by our forefathers and brothers who dedicated their lives to maintaining law and order in Fiji, as well as their contributions overseas,” Nute remarked. He emphasized gratitude towards the players for their hard work and commitment, dedicating the victory to all officers serving domestically and on international missions.
This victory serves as an additional highlight for the Police, who also secured the prestigious Escott Shield earlier this year along with the inaugural Armed Native Constabulary Bowl. Nute praised his team’s efforts, stating, “I commend the boys; they have given their all and reaped the rewards.”
This triumphant moment not only celebrates the team’s achievements but also honors the legacy of those who have served in the police force, providing a sense of pride and unity within the community. The ongoing support for the Fiji Police reinforces the importance of their mission, ensuring a safer future for all.
Overall, this victory encapsulates not just sportsmanship but also highlights the commitment and resilience of the Police Force over its long history, promising more successes in the future.
