Josua Waqanivalu, environment officer for the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB), has claimed that the organization’s master land use plans can provide solutions to its sequential licensing and leasing issues. Previously, TLTB operated with a first-come-first-serve system, leading to a disjointed approach. With the integration of the master land use plan, these territories will be pre-allocated, allowing for a more systematic approach to land allocation for various uses such as domestic housing or tourism. Waqanivalu believes this plan will effectively support State employees in issuing leases.
