Pita Wise’s Japan Mission Appointment Hits a Snag

The Public Service Commission has announced that the appointment of Pita Wise as ‘Head of Mission’ in Japan has been rescinded. This decision comes after the initial announcement faced significant backlash from the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre and the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement.

Wise had previously resigned from his role as Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office last month. He had been serving in this position since January of the previous year and had also held the position of Permanent Secretary during the prior administration.
