Pita Wise, the former permanent secretary in the Prime Minister’s office, has been designated as Fiji’s ambassador to Japan. Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed that Mr. Wise had applied for this ambassadorship. “He had applied and we have earmarked him for Japan,” Mr. Rabuka stated. Mr. Wise resigned from the Office of the Prime Minister on September 26, a resignation that was confirmed by Public Service Commission chairman Luke Rokovaka as voluntary.
