Former permanent secretary in the Prime Minister’s office, Pita Wise, has been designated as Fiji’s ambassador to Japan. Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed that Wise had applied for the position. “He had applied and we have earmarked him for Japan,” Mr. Rabuka stated yesterday. Wise resigned from the Office of the Prime Minister on September 26, and PSC chairman Luke Rokovaka confirmed that Wise had voluntarily stepped down from his role.
