The International Women’s Association (IWA) has proudly announced the remarkable success of its PINKtober fundraising lunch, hosted on October 19 at the beautiful Nanuku Resort in Fiji.
IWA president Judy Compain expressed heartfelt appreciation for the help received, particularly from Nanuku Resort and the small businesses that donated to the event. She noted, “We are deeply thankful to Nanuku Resort and all the small businesses that contributed to this event. Their support allows us to continue our vital work in the community and make a meaningful impact.”
During the event, Jeff Larsen, managing director of Nanuku Fiji, along with general manager Tomasi Turukawa, presented an impressive donation of $25,000 to Compain and her team. This contribution is crucial for the IWA’s ongoing initiatives focused on improving the lives of women, children, and healthcare services in Fiji.
The IWA is especially appreciative of the local businesses that provided door prizes, raffle items, and auction goods, significantly contributing to the event’s financial success. Their unwavering support emphasizes the community’s collective effort to uplift the lives of those in need.
Nanuku Resort has proven to be an invaluable partner in the IWA’s mission, demonstrating a shared commitment to community welfare and the empowerment of women, while also supporting their staff and their families.
Funds raised from the event will be directed towards supporting cancer patients and enhancing health initiatives. This effort will build upon previous successful projects, including the renovation of the CWM Oncology Ward earlier this year.
This event exemplifies the power of community collaboration and highlights the positive impact that local businesses and organizations can make when they come together for a noble cause. With continued support, the IWA looks forward to furthering its mission to bring hope and relief to those in need.
In essence, the PINKtober fundraising lunch stands as a testimony to the strength of community spirit in Fiji and the hope for a brighter future for many women and children.
