The International Women’s Association (IWA) has proudly announced the success of its PINKtober fundraising lunch, which took place on October 19 at the Nanuku Resort in Fiji.
IWA President Judy Compain expressed her sincere appreciation for the support received from Nanuku Resort and local businesses. She noted, “We are deeply thankful to Nanuku Resort and all the small businesses that contributed to this event. Their support allows us to continue our vital work in the community and make a meaningful impact.”
During the event, Nanuku Fiji’s managing director, Jeff Larsen, and general manager, Tomasi Turukawa, presented a generous donation of $25,000 to Compain and her team. This significant contribution further supports the IWA’s ongoing projects aimed at aiding women, children, and healthcare initiatives in Fiji.
The IWA is particularly thankful for the contributions from small businesses that provided items for door prizes, raffles, and auctions, which played a critical role in raising a substantial amount for the cause.
Nanuku Resort continues to be a pivotal partner in the IWA’s mission, dedicating itself to community well-being and women’s empowerment while supporting its staff and families. The funds generated from this event will assist cancer patients and reinforce health initiatives, building upon previous successes such as the renovation of the CWM Oncology Ward completed earlier this year.
This event showcases not only the power of community collaboration but also highlights the essential ongoing efforts to uplift women, children, and health services within the region.
In a nutshell, the success of this fundraising lunch underscores the commitment of individuals and organizations towards fostering a more supportive and healthier community. With such unwavering support, the future holds promising potential for improvements in healthcare and women’s empowerment initiatives in Fiji.
