The International Women’s Association (IWA) recently celebrated the remarkable success of its PINKtober fundraising lunch, which took place on October 19 at the Nanuku Resort in Fiji.

IWA president Judy Compain expressed heartfelt appreciation, saying, “We are deeply thankful to Nanuku Resort and all the small businesses that contributed to this event. Their support allows us to continue our vital work in the community and make a meaningful impact.”

During the event, Nanuku Fiji’s managing director Jeff Larsen and general manager Tomasi Turukawa presented a generous cheque for $25,000 to Ms. Compain and her team. This significant contribution will bolster the IWA’s ongoing initiatives focusing on women, children, and healthcare in Fiji.

The IWA expressed particular gratitude for the incredible support from local small businesses that donated items for door prizes, raffles, and auctions, which significantly contributed to the fundraising efforts. Their kindness was pivotal in the event’s financial success, further advancing the IWA’s commitment to improving the lives of women and children and enhancing healthcare services in the community.

Nanuku Resort continues to play a vital role in supporting the IWA’s mission, demonstrating a shared commitment to community welfare, women’s empowerment, and the well-being of their staff and families.

The funds raised from this event will specifically aid cancer patients and strengthen health initiatives, building on the positive outcomes from recent projects, including the renovation of the CWM Oncology Ward earlier this year.

This event not only showcases the power of community collaboration but also highlights the ongoing commitment to uplifting the lives of those in need. It reflects a hopeful vision for the future, reinforcing the idea that collective efforts can lead to meaningful change.
