The 96th Pineapple Cup, a renowned bowling tournament, kicked off at the Fiji Bowling Club in Suva yesterday. Competitors faced off in the singles category as they aimed to roll their balls closest to the jack.
Litia Tikoisuva, the tournament’s coordinator, expressed her appreciation to Kontiki Finance for their continued support of the event over the past eight years. “This weekend sponsorship is $5000, and that’s not including all the t-shirts we have, which they also provided,” she stated.
As the defending champion in the women’s division, Tikoisuva noted the impressive turnout of 40 players, stating, “We have quite a good turnout as you can see the club is quite full. With the singles, it’s anyone’s game and if it’s your day, then it is your day.” The tournament features both new and experienced bowlers, and the competition is set to conclude today.
