Pasifika Communications, Fiji’s top full-service creative agency, marked its 30th anniversary with a celebration at Paradiso Restaurant in Suva. The event reflected on the agency’s distinctive journey, emphasizing the dedication of its skilled staff, the loyalty and collaboration of clients, and the support from the communities it serves.

Established in August 1994, Pasifika specializes in communication and marketing solutions for commercial clients, non-profit organizations, and governments throughout the Pacific region. Over the years, it has grown into the largest and most successful creative agency in the Pacific.

In the past three decades, Pasifika Communications has offered a wide array of services, including design, advertising, media management, video production, market research, and digital marketing for Fiji and other Pacific island nations. The agency has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work that embodies its core values and the diverse cultures of the Pacific.

Dale Hermanson, the founder and Managing Director of Pasifika Communications, expressed pride in reaching this significant milestone. He stated, “Our commitment to excellence and creativity has been our driving force for 30 years. I believe our extensive experience throughout the Pacific island countries makes us the best choice for communication and advertising in the region.”

Throughout its history, Pasifika Communications has earned recognition for its contributions to the advertising and marketing field. Some of the company’s notable achievements include:

– Numerous awards for Best Annual Report design, Best TV Commercial, and Best Documentary.
– Winning five FTIB (now Investment Fiji) awards in the years 1995, 1996, 1997, 2000, and 2003.
– Three videos being selected for the Hawaii International Film Festival.
– Letila Mitchell, Miss Pasifika Communications, crowned as 1997 Miss Hibiscus.
– The production of “Suva City,” the first dramatic TV series in the Pacific Islands.
– Establishing Fiji’s first taxi signage service, TranSigns.
– Women’s Leadership: In 2017, Natalia Evans became one of the first female General Managers of a Fiji advertising agency, while Sashi Chand became the Business Development Manager and company director. All three department managers are also women.
– Digital Evolution: The launch of the Digital Department in 2017 allowed Pasifika to offer a comprehensive range of digital marketing services.

Reflecting on the challenges faced, Mr. Hermanson mentioned, “It was a difficult journey at times. We had to endure the 2000 coup, the 2006 coup, the global financial crisis, and COVID, but we’re still here and stronger than ever.”

Despite its achievements, the company is looking toward the future. Ms. Chand noted, “Though we’ve been in business for three decades now, we are planning to expand our services and embrace the latest technologies.” Ms. Evans added, “Our vision for the future is to continue to push boundaries and explore new ways to provide solutions for our clients. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead and dedicated to making a lasting impact into the future.”
