The Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, has announced that based on legal guidance, Section 11 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 2014 indicates that a new determination made in May has replaced the previous 2020 determination. During a parliamentary session, Ratu Naiqama stated that this means the 2020 determination has been officially revoked, and the 2024 determination confirms that current salaries will be set at 100 percent, effective from August 2024. He added that all Members of Parliament are now receiving 100 percent of their salaries.
