The Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, announced that, based on legal advice, Section 11 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 2014 indicates that the recent salary determination made by Parliament in May has replaced the 2020 Determination. During a parliamentary session, Ratu Naiqama stated that the 2020 Determination has been formally revoked, and the new 2024 Determination confirms that current salaries will be at 100 percent, effective from August 2024. He emphasized that Members of Parliament are now receiving their salaries at the full 100 percent rate.
