Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is visiting New Caledonia for a three-day high-level mission, which is being led by the Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum, Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni of Tonga. The mission, taking place from October 27 to 29, unites leaders from various Pacific nations, including Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown and Solomon Islands Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister Peter-Shanel Agovaka, alongside Rabuka.
Following the mandate from the recent 53rd Pacific Islands Forum held in Tonga, this visit is limited to observational purposes as per the request from the Government of New Caledonia. Rabuka stated, “We are here to respectfully observe and engage under agreed Terms of Reference, as endorsed by the French State, the Government of New Caledonia, and the Forum.”
