The 3rd Regional Aviation Ministers Meeting (RAMM3) has officially commenced in Suva, marking a significant step towards enhancing collaboration across the aviation sector in the Pacific region. During the meeting, attendees—including aviation ministers and delegates from various Pacific island nations—were welcomed traditionally by Tao Ma, the Regional Director of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Asia-Pacific Office. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka, highlighted the critical role of aviation as a lifeline for regional economies, facilitating vital connectivity for trade, tourism, and essential services.
Gavoka emphasized the importance of discussions over the coming days, stating that they would shape the future of the region’s aviation sector and bolster regional partnerships under the Suva Declaration.
