The People’s Alliance (PA) party has appointed Ro Filipe Tuisawau as one of its new deputy leaders, succeeding Lynda Tabuya, who was dismissed from the position in March. Tabuya’s removal was associated with a complaint regarding her alleged involvement in an extramarital affair and a drug scandal linked to a Government trip to the Parliament of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, last year. The party’s acting secretary, Sila Balawa, announced yesterday that the party’s executive committee endorsed Ro Filipe’s appointment as deputy leader during their meeting on September 25. Ro Filipe currently holds the position of Minister for Public Works, Transport and Meteorological Services and serves as the Leader of Government Business in Parliament. He previously acted as the Opposition Whip from 2018 to 2022 under the former administration.
