Old Scholars Unite for Fun-Filled Sports Day!

Former students of Adi Cakobau School gathered for an annual sports fun day at the Suva Grammar School indoor court yesterday, coinciding with the school’s birthday celebrations. Participants, consisting of women and girls of varying ages, were divided into four teams that represented their respective schoolhouses.

Ilisapeci Movono, President of the ACS Old Girls, explained that the event aimed to unite former students. “This year we decided to host a sports day to bring everyone together, allowing them to meet, interact, and showcase their talents and skills,” Movono expressed.

The day’s activities commenced with a Zumba session at 7 am, followed by several games including volleyball, a walking netball competition, tug of war, and card games. Activities like card games were included to ensure participation from older players as well.

Movono indicated that another sports day would be on the agenda for next year, emphasizing that the enjoyment from these events would continue. “Next year’s sports day will be scheduled at a time convenient for everyone. We’re not certain about the specific plans yet, but we will definitely have one and we’re having fun.”

The festivities concluded with a dinner for the former students at Paradiso Restaurant in Albert Park, Suva, last night.
