Old Scholars Unite: ACS Sports Day Brings Fun and Connection

Former students of Adi Cakobau School gathered for an annual sports fun day at the Suva Grammar School indoor court yesterday, as part of the celebration of the school’s birthday.

The event involved women and girls from different age groups, who formed four teams representing their respective schoolhouses. Ilisapeci Movono, the President of the ACS Old Girls, explained that the initiative aimed to unite the alumni.

“This year, we decided to host a sports day to encourage everyone to connect, interact, and showcase their skills and talents,” Movono stated.

Activities kicked off with a Zumba session at 7 AM, followed by various games including volleyball, a walking netball competition, tug of war, and card games. The inclusion of card games like trump was intended to engage older participants as well.

Movono expressed optimism for future events, indicating that participants can anticipate another sports day next year. “For next year, we will schedule it at a time that suits everyone. Although we are still finalizing plans, we are committed to ensuring the fun continues.”

The day’s festivities wrapped up with a dinner for the old scholars at the Paradiso Restaurant in Albert Park, Suva last night.
