The Australian Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) is providing an excellent education opportunity in the region for young people and students, enabling them to enhance their skills for employment and improve their quality of life.
On Wednesday, 317 students, comprising 181 females and 137 males, were awarded certificates in Nasinu.
Jokapeci Mocelutu, a 26-year-old from Suvavou, Rewa, is among the graduates. She holds a certificate in aged care and is preparing to work in the industry. She has been attending this training for 12 weeks, which has equipped her with valuable skills and knowledge essential for her career aspirations.
“This is a great opportunity that is available to us, and we are grateful for the skills we can acquire,” she said. Jokapeci intends to seek employment locally or abroad, as jobs are currently scarce, and living costs are also high. She faces challenges as a single mother with her own education continuing alongside her child’s schooling.
Similarly, Sainimere Lewetini, also 26 years old from Naweretu, Nakorotubu, recently completed her Certificate II in Hospitality. She emphasized how much she values the education received at APTC, stating it has provided her with better prospects for the future. Sainimere’s training lasted 12 weeks, which included three weeks of practical learning in hotels across the country.
She expressed her gratitude to God for the opportunity and anticipates that this training will open doors to employment in local hotels.
Sainimere encourages her peers to take advantage of such programs as they are free and can help alleviate poverty among the indigenous population.
Overall, both women highlight the importance of these training programs in improving their lives and the lives of their families.
