A 27-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the charge of murdering his 25-year-old wife. Apisai Madigibuli appeared before Justice Dane Tuiqereqere at the High Court in Suva on Thursday.
Mr. Madigibuli is accused of fatally stabbing Kitiana Baravilala with a kitchen knife on April 25. His lawyer from Legal Aid, Paula Gade, mentioned that since there were full admissions in the caution interview, a voir dire grounds application would be filed.
Meanwhile, DPP lawyer Triveshni Sharma stated that the officer in charge of the matter and Mr. Gade would meet to discuss the pre-trial conference in 14 days. Mr. Gade also informed the court that a bail application for his client would be filed in two weeks.
The case has been adjourned to August 5.
