Nitesh Chand, a snooker player from Lautoka, has received a $500 sponsorship from Devendra Prasad, the Director of Viti Hygiene Solution, in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Fiji Open Snooker Championship. The championship will take place from Thursday to Sunday at the South Seas Club, where Chand will compete against top players from both local and international arenas.
Prasad, who has been a close friend of Chand for many years, expressed that his sponsorship is a reflection of their longstanding friendship and his respect for Chand’s capabilities in the sport. “I have known Nitesh for a long time,” Prasad stated.
Chand, who has 24 years of experience in snooker, expressed his appreciation for the sponsorship, noting the difficulty in finding individual sponsors in the sport. “It’s very hard to find individual sponsors, but I thank Dev for coming in to support me,” Chand remarked.
Now at 41 years old, Chand has represented Fiji in snooker competitions across the Oceania region and is looking forward to facing some of the best players during this highly anticipated championship.
