NFP Re-Elects Leadership: A Historic AGM Comes to a Close

The National Federation Party has re-elected its office bearers without opposition during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held today at the Nadroga Sangam School in Malaqereqere, Sigatoka. Parmod Chand resumes his role as President, supported by Vice Presidents Devendra Naidu, Kamala Lajendra, Ratu Esava Nabuta, Peter Saunivalu, Waisale Kanavu, and Vijay Rajnesh Prasad. Chandu Lodhia remains as Treasurer, while Kamal Iyer continues as General Secretary and Bimal Prasad serves as Assistant General Secretary.

In addressing a large audience, Chand expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support, emphasizing that the party’s 61-year presence is a reflection of its core values and commitment to the national interest. “The NFP’s 61 years of existence speaks volumes about our principles. We have never compromised our values for political gain. Our accomplishments are significant and will extend well into the future,” he stated.

Chand also noted the historical significance of the location, marking the first time the party has convened in Sigatoka in 25 years. “We are gathering in Sigatoka after 25 years; the last meeting was held at nearby Cuvu College hall in 1999, following a significant political loss. However, the NFP has consistently risen from challenges,” he remarked.

The Annual General Meeting and Convention concluded yesterday.
