The National Federation Party has successfully re-elected its office bearers unanimously during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today at the Nadroga Sangam School in Malaqereqere, Sigatoka. Parmod Chand has been re-elected as President, joined by Vice Presidents Devendra Naidu, Kamala Lajendra, Ratu Esava Nabuta, Peter Saunivalu, Waisale Kanavu, and Vijay Rajnesh Prasad. Chandu Lodhia remains as Treasurer, while Kamal Iyer continues as General Secretary and Bimal Prasad serves as Assistant General Secretary.
During his address to the attendees, Chand expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support, emphasizing that the party’s persistence over 61 years is a reflection of its core principles and commitment to national interests.
“The establishment of the NFP for 61 years highlights our foundational values. We have steadfastly adhered to our principles, avoiding compromises for political gain. Our accomplishments are significant and will carry on for many years to come,” he stated.
Chand also highlighted the historical importance of the meeting location, mentioning that the party had not gathered in Sigatoka for 25 years. “We are convening here in Sigatoka after a long absence. The last time we assembled here was in 1999 at the Cuvu College hall, following a significant political setback. Yet, the NFP has always managed to rise from the challenges it faces,” he remarked.
The AGM and Convention concluded yesterday.
